Our Mission, Vision, Values, Etc.
At BLEND, we dream – of a world where immigrants flourish, American Christians welcome well, and all of Fredericksburg thrives relationally and spiritually.
All The Details...
Our Mission
We exist for the dual purposes of serving immigrants directly and equipping American Christians to share love and truth in hospitable and culturally intelligent ways.
Our Vision
We desire to see immigrants find Fredericksburg home, American Christians live out the art of welcome, and all of Fredericksburg gain access to the Gospel Message of Jesus Messiah.
Our Values
The values of Hospitality, Truth, Dignity, Hope, Community, God’s Love, and Restoration guide our decisions and actions.
Our Philosophy
We believe none of us can succeed without God and each other. We believe offering each of our individual and cultural strengths to one another will make us all stronger and give us opportunity to know God better.
Our History
We began in August 2021 when Kabul fell to the Taliban. In the wake of that pain, God raised up a team of Americans to serve those fleeing Afghanistan and settling in Fredericksburg. We decided to poise ourselves to serve any immigrant rather than those from Afghanistan only, as the crises will change but will sadly always exist.
Our Identity
We are Americans, most of whom follow Jesus Messiah according to the teachings of the Holy Bible. (That is, “Christians” – in the genuine sense, not just the cultural sense.) Some of us were born on American soil, and others became Americans through immigration years ago.
Our Beliefs
Since those of us who are Christians come from a wide variety of denominations and backgrounds, we have many differences in the details of our beliefs. Most of us, however, are united by believing and following the teachings of the Holy Bible, the Nicene Creed, and our Belief Statement.
